The Female Athlete: Predictors of Sport-Injury Rehabilitation Adherence |
Rehabilitation adherence is an important research issue across populations within sports medicine. Further investigation is needed to identify useful predictors of compliance to be selected into the study, ultimately aiding sports medicine professionals in their rehabilitation of injury. Of special interest is the female athlete; past research has identified differences between male and females relating to rehabilitation adherence. The purpose of this talk is to present a set of predictors that best describe the adherence picture for the female athlete. The study sample is a group of elite female athletes, competing for the United States in the sport of soccer. |
