The ABC's of Playground Supervision |
Eighty percent of injuries that occur in school happen on the playground. However, research has shown that with proper supervision, this injury rate can be significantly reduced. The ABC's of Playground Supervision is a training program developed by the National Program for Playground Safety to help teach those responsible for supervising children on the playgrounds what to look for in terms of potential hazards, how to position themselves for active monitoring and scanning of the play environment, how to deal with unacceptable behavior and actions, and how to develop a supervision plan to ensure a safe play environment. |
