Mental Preparation for Peak Performance |
Athletic performance is largely determined by a variety of factors such as skill level, physical potential, and psychological control during competition. Athletes at all levels must have proper mental preparation to reach their athletic potential, regardless of their skill and physical competence. The objective of this presentation is to analyze the sources of anxiety/stress before competition and also provide coaches and athletes with the four different mental preparation approaches for performance enhancement. Hopefully, through this presentation, coaches and athletes can recognize the importance of mental preparation and also learn psychological approaches to help athletes maximize their athletic potential. |
