An Interdisciplinary Wellness Trail: More Than Just A Hike!
Participants will learn the details of developing a unique wellness project that can be duplicated in any school setting. The wellness trail combines interdisciplinary instruction, wellness-based thematic curricula, and school/community collaboration. The project's development was based on a four-pronged model of wellness, consisting of physical, mental, emotional, and ecological components. The four-mile long trail incorporates a variety of flora and fauna, fitness stations, and student-generated projects. An interdisciplinary team, led by a physical educator, will explain the development of the project from conception to completion.
