Deciding upon the type of wellness or recreation facility that is needed in a community can be overwhelming and challenging. This presentation will provide valuable information to the wellness coordinator, recreation director or activity director of a community based wellness program and facility. When developing a community based wellness program and facility, city and/or business planners must be mindful of a wide range of factors. Some of these factors include: populations involved, program services provided, equipment needs and cost, community partners, standards of care, risk management, pre-participation health appraisals, space needs and guidelines, staff certifications, and training and program evaluation. |
