Conducting Quality Practice Sessions in Sport |
Excellence in sport may be mediated by many factors. The ways in which an athlete and team practices is perhaps the most influential component to improved performance in sport. Coaches often acknowledge the importance of engaging in quality practice sessions but may find its application challenging to accomplish. The presenter interviewed five expert coaches across various sports to develop a model of quality practice in sport. The Quality Practice Model that emerged conceptualizes the dynamic nature of quality practice. The purpose of this presentation is to provide a deeper understanding of quality practice and discuss ways a coach can facilitate effective practice sessions. |
