Overselling the Health Care Cost Containment Argument in Worksite Health Promotion |
For years, providers of worksite health promotion programs have based the worth of health promotion on health care cost containment (HCCC) projections. All too often, other accepted methods of assessing the effectiveness and worth of programs receive limited attention. This presentation will highlight the limitations of a singular focus on HCCC when evaluating worksite programs. Panel members will draw on their experience to discuss alternative, effective quantitative and qualitative approaches to program evaluation and support their thoughts with case study examples. Program participants will be provided ample opportunity to submit questions from the floor. |
