The Adaptive Adventure Sports Coalition
This session will introduce attendees to the scope of community-based adventure programs offered by The Adaptive Adventure Sports Coalition (TAASC). TAASC is a private non-profit, volunteer-based organization. The mission of TAASC is to enhance the quality of life for people with disabilities by providing sports and recreational activities and to offer opportunities for empowerment through education, leadership, and training in collaboration with community-based organizations. In addition to highlighting the recreation and sport programs offered by TAASC, the session will also provide information and ideas on the process of beginning a non-profit organization, fund-raising, collaborating with existing community-based organizations, and volunteer recruitment.
