Special Topics in Health Education:(1) Development and Implementation of a Department-wide Inclusive Portfolio System and (2) Meeting the Needs of Special Education Students in Human Sexuality Education
The first two hours of this workshop will offer participants an opportunity to examine and experience an integrated standards-based undergraduate and graduate portfolio system including working, showcase, presentation, and employment portfolios that are electronically produced. The second two hours of this workshop will teach participants to 1. describe a model of teaching human sexuality to individuals who are disabled; 2. demonstrate 5 human sexuality teaching methodologies appropriate for youth who are physically or emotionally disabled; 3. adapt human sexuality education to meet IDEA standards for special populations. Participants will leave the presentation with an effective model of implementing human sexuality and HIV/AIDS education with special populations.
