Special Topics in Health Education:(1) Development and Implementation of a Department-wide Inclusive Portfolio System and (2) Meeting the Needs of Special Education Students in Human Sexuality Education |
The first two hours of this workshop will offer participants an opportunity to examine and experience an integrated standards-based undergraduate and graduate portfolio system including working, showcase, presentation, and employment portfolios that are electronically produced. The second two hours of this workshop will teach participants to 1. describe a model of teaching human sexuality to individuals who are disabled; 2. demonstrate 5 human sexuality teaching methodologies appropriate for youth who are physically or emotionally disabled; 3. adapt human sexuality education to meet IDEA standards for special populations. Participants will leave the presentation with an effective model of implementing human sexuality and HIV/AIDS education with special populations. |
