Physical Education vs. Recreation: Are We Making the Connection?
This session will demonstrate how Ontario High School in California has a team of teachers focusing their curriculum to lead to Recreational activities. The School was named High School Physical Education Program of the Year for 1995 by CAHPERD. The Program has a 2 year core curriculum, books for every freshmen, several Junior/Senior electives, a rock climbing wall, bicycling, Fitness Center, Aquatics program, Intramural, etc. The presenters will help you learn about rock climbing and help you get started on a wall of your own. Participants may want to sign up for the rock wall session at a professional gym in San Diego.
