Context, Process, and Participation: Critical Methods for Teaching Sport Ethics |
This session identifies some methodological concerns in teaching sport ethics and constructive ways to address these concerns. Attendees will learn about processes and factors that moderate ethical decision-making, and how to design and use case study and group-learning experiences that enhance social relevance and individual and group participation. The session supports situating ethical theories and decision-making pedagogically and epistemologically within the context of real-life critical challenges and relevant historical, cultural, professional and institutional norms and virtues. Learning experiences discussed will include group inquiry, comparative case analysis, and a problem-setting assignment published on the web. |
Keyword(s): curriculum development, sport management, standards and ethics
