AAHE Advocacy Priority, Third Party Reimbursement: Will it Keep Health Education “First-Rate?”
This presentation will explore what will be necessary to achieve third-party reimbursement for health education. Specifically, this presentation will describe what third party reimbursement is, the pros and cons of implementing third party reimbursement from the perspective of other allied health disciplines, the lessons learned through the advocacy and legislative efforts of other allied health fields, and the proposed changes needed in health education in order to accommodate third-party reimbursement. In addition resources for both students and professionals such as the Advocacy Summit, the HEAL network and web-based tools designed to monitor legislation will be explained.
