Creating New Square Dances for Today's Generation
This session will engage participants in learning how to create new square dance movements using a traditional square dance formation. The session will also demonstrate how interdisciplinary connections to the Social Studies curriculum are addressed when square dance is taught considering historical, cultural and social contexts. Participants will leave the session with an understanding of how to add a creative element to a traditional square dance unit.
