I’d Rather See a Sermon…Do Teacher Educators Practice What They Preach?
NASPE, NCATE and NBPTS have outlined objective and measurable criteria for quality teaching and what beginning teachers should know and be able to do. For teacher education programs to be effective and align with standards, so too must teacher educators. Are there identifiable and objective standards for what teacher educators should know and be able to do? We will spend some time engaged in professorial reflection, discuss quality teaching of teacher educators and examine whether or not teacher educators should be held to a higher standard than other professors for their teaching.
