Assessment for Individuals with Disabilities: What’s Important?
The purpose of this session is to provide a partnership between practitioners and university faculty to discuss and collaborate on what and how content is addressed in motor assessment courses. Eight university professors who teach in the California State University system will share their ideas and strategies for instruction and content. This will be followed by a facilitated discussion from participants on what they feel are the needs of highly effective assessment courses. Areas of discussion will include the legal basis of assessment, early childhood/elementary, health-related fitness, transition, sport classification, and the use of case studies. Similarities and differences across courses will be examined as well as potential needs.
