Elementary Assessment Using Digital Video Technology |
Digital video assessment was implemented with elementary school students in skill development. Using performance based authentic assessment, students were able to document successes and progress, perform self and group assessments; and produce a final product for evaluation. All of the projects incorporated the use of digital video, computer and video editing programs. Additionally, students actively participated in the videotaping and editing process. Five different projects will be highlighted that demonstrate digital video assessment procedures (second grade motor evaluation, individual education program (iep) evaluation, digital support home project, fifth grade dance project, and a third grade gymnastic/poetry project.). |
