Make mine, Milk. Physical Educators, Fast Food Restaurants: A Moral Dilemma |
This presentation will discuss the role of health and physical educators in the battle to increase calcium ingestion in children. Specifically, the presentation will focus on health and physical educator's role in motivating fast food restaurants to educate parents to buy milk as the primary beverage. Observable data concerning the purchase of soda instead of milk, research concerning the effects of soda consumption, and its relationship to calcium ingestion in children, and the results of decreased calcium on bone development will be discussed. Finally, ways to implement calcium ingestion and the moral obligation of schools and communities will be addressed. |
