NASPE/Sport History Academy
Does History Matter?: Teaching Sport & Physical Education History
This session will be a combination of panel presentations and round table discussion. The focus of the session will be on both the applied aspects of teaching sport/PE history as well as an extensive discussion of the place of history within the contemporary discipline of Kinesiology. Following the presentations, 15-20 minutes will remain for dialogue. Audience members will be invited to select one of the topics introduced by the panel members and discussion will be led by the presenters. Time will remain at the end for the groups to come back together and share ideas, suggestions, and steps for the future.
