Physical Activity for Children: Preparing Future Guidelines |
Children are not little adults. In recognition of this fact COPEC/NASPE published physical activity guidelines specifically for children in 1998. The guidelines are now in the process of being updated based on new evidence. This session will present new research evidence to be used to support new recommendations as well as preliminary content of the revised guidelines. Basic concepts that differentiate children from adults, as well as specific differences in activity recommendations will be discussed. Input from the audience will be solicited. |
