Management, Pedometers, and Promoting Lifestyle Activity
This activity workshop will demonstrate effective techniques to manage children while demonstrating accountability and promoting lifestyle activity. Strategies for developing effective classroom management will be presented and then used throughout the workshop. The rationale for the use of the pedometer as a tool to demonstrate accountability in physical education will also be presented, with participants given the opportunity to experience activities using pedometers. Participants will also engage in several fitness activities suitable for all children. Innovative strategies for using fitness testing as a teaching tool rather than a tool to demonstrate accountability will also be presented.
