Current Perspectives on Body Image and the Female Athlete Triad |
Panel members representing dance, athletic training, health, physical education and fitness share how they approach problems related to body image dissatisfaction and the female athlete triad. All from the same institution, each panel member will relate how body image dissatisfaction, from both the male and female perspective, and the female triad (eating disorders, osteoporosis, and amenorrhea) have impacted their students and/or athletes. Panel members will share problem-solving techniques, such as workshops and curriculum development, and their respective research efforts in this area. Additionally, hands-on activities will provide the practitioner with a variety of intervention strategies. |
