Lifeguard Training Programs: Are They Keeping Seasonal Staff Afloat? |
Parks and recreation departments look to seasonal staffs of students and teachers on summer break to maintain and run aquatic facilities. Concerns arise over the continuing safety training of part-time aquatic professionals. What are the qualifications of these aquatic personnel? What standard of care practices and other risk management practices are these personnel exposed to in training? What are the follow-up procedures the training agencies follow to ensure patron safety?
Anyone in recreational pool management will develop an understanding of potential pitfalls and how to counteract them. A life may depend upon knowing this information. |
