An Analysis of Print Media Coverage During the Sydney Summer Olympics
Although women and girls are competing in sports in increasing numbers, disparities persist in print media coverage. The purpose of this project was to: (a) analyze print media coverage from the 2000 Olympic Games, and (b) compare the 2000 Olympic print media coverage to that of the 1996 Olympic Games. USA Today was the print media source used for analysis and comparison. The findings shed light on what, if any, gains women and girls are making in print media coverage.
