LATE BREAKING: Facing Fear: Helping Young People Deal with Terrorism and Other Tragic Events |
What should I say to students in the aftermath of a tragic event? What if I’m unsure how to answer questions and help my students with their uncomfortable feelings? These are questions most educators have asked in recent months. Facing Fear is a curriculum developed by the American Red Cross for educators of children and youth in grades K-12 to help children cope in uncertain times.
Come explore standards-based lessons in the curriculum dealing with feelings of loss, sadness and anger, discerning facts as reported in media coverage, showing tolerance for others, and preparing for future uncertain times. |
