AALR Plenary Session - Mt. Everest Expedition: Reaching out beyond the classroom to inspire and motivate students through adventure and technology
Learn how to reach out beyond the classroom to motivate, inspire, and educate your students. Kim Rieman will illustrate how she combined adventure and technology to educate students from basecamp during her Mt. Everest expedition in the spring of 2000. Kim will share ideas, resources, and examples of how she expanded her daily classroom to students throughout the world. As a teacher and a climber, she combines her passions with advanced technologies to instruct students about the climb, the people of Nepal, the culture, geography, and Himalayan region.
