Innovative Activity Programs for Individuals with Cognitive Dysfunction and Alzheimer's Disease
Alzheimer’s disease is often portrayed as a tragic condition with little hope for recovery. While working with older adults with cognitive impairment can often be exceedingly challenging for caregivers and health professionals, research suggests no brain is too old or too chronically ill to benefit from activity. The purpose of this workshop is to present state-of-the-art strategies for working with older adults with a wide variety of cognitive dysfunctions, including mild to moderate dementia and Alzheimer’s disease. The session will also assist professionals working with individuals with cognitive impairment to improve their quality of life and relieve the burden for caregivers.
