| COPPPE honors the 2001 NCATE-approved universities. Luncheon will be followed by a recognition ceremony for all college and university physical education programs that were approved in 2001 according to the Initial or Advanced national PETE standards. All colleges and university physical education programs that are currently NASPE/NCATE approved are invited to share in this celebration of teaching excellence. After certificates are presented, the luncheon address will be given by Dr. Boyce Williams who is an expert in the field of program accreditation. Dr. Williams is Vice President for Institutional Relations for the National Council for Accreditation of Teacher Education (NCATE). She will speak on "The Brass Ring."
