Issues in Athletic Facility Planning
Reign of Errors: Pitfalls and Solutions in Athletic/Recreational Facility Planning: Presenters will identify some of the major facility planning problems and solutions to avoiding common mistakes. Facility Evolution; a $25 Million Renovation: Experience the transformation of a 90,000 sq.ft. facility originally designed for intercollegiate athletics use, into a 186,000 sq.ft., state-of-the-art academic building supporting HPER and eight other units at Ohio University. Design and Planning of Sport Facilities: Ask the Experts: This session gives insight and direction in the planning or renovation of a sport facility. This panel will answer questions regarding the planning of a variety of sport facilities. Bleacher Safety Act and Guidelines for Retrofitting: Presenters will introduce the attendee to various legal concepts as they apply to bleachers and bleacher safety. Of particular importance is the Minnesota Bleacher Safety Act and the resultant CPSC Guidelines for retrofitting bleachers.
