Physical Activity in High Schools: Building Models of Caring |
Current reforms in many states have included efforts to build more caring environments in high schools through physical education and after school programs of physical activity. These reforms make use of sport curriculum models as well as various social responsibility and moral development strategies. They have in common the goal of helping youngsters become more positive citizens as they develop caring behaviors and moral leadership. In this program, presenters in projects from at least four different states will share their experiences of building caring in high schools. Each project will provide an overview of their experiences and at least two activities used in the project to build caring. |
