Rather than grading students by peer comparison or an absolute criterion, diagnostic assessment, an emerging field of Kinesmetrics, focuses on providing actionable feedback to students, parents and teachers using multi-dimensional tests. This session provides a semi-technical, hands-on introduction to diagnostic assessment that answer the questions what it is, why physical education needs it and how to construct a diagnostic assessment. Related specifics, e.g., state-of-the-art techniques, models, and software will also be presented.
