Graduate assistantships (GA) are staples in all athletic departments. GA’s work as coaches, advisors and trainers, etc. This session explores the roles, relationships and responsibilities of GA’s in a college or university athletic department. We will explore the relationships, social demands, academic and overall commitment to the department, the program, and their academic focus. Who benefits most from these athletic relationships? What are the benefits from these relationships?
