472 Using Paralympic/Disability Sports as Complementary Activities to Teach Skills

In this session, attendees will learn innovative strategies to diversify their general physical education (GPE) curriculum through the inclusion of Paralympic sports while meeting common core and national state standards. Attendees will participate in effective lessons that integrate sports into their existing general physical curriculum units such as sit volleyball with volleyball, goalball with bowling, and sled hockey with floor hockey. The activities are designed to reach the skill levels of all students in GPE, including those with disabilities.
