This presentation describes the Belizean Sport Youth Coalition, a three-year training program funded by the U.S. State Department to promote youth development and social change through sport in Belize. The presentation will focus on project mission, aims and milestones; development of training content; and, lessons learned, including the importance of flexible planning, dynamic trainer responses, relationship-building and awareness of cultural context. Strategies for overcoming barriers and strengthening program sustainability will be shared.
