Internationally, “Physical Literacy” is a recognized outcome of school physical education programs. U.S. physical education professionals are just now getting introduced to its meaning and its central role in demonstrating program quality. Using a panel of international experts, physical literacy is defined, and placed in the context of the current trends in school physical education, how it connects with physical activity and sport, as well as the implications for the future of school-based physical education. Immediately following the presentation, from 10:15 am to 12:15 pm, please join key leaders and your colleagues in an interactive session to continue the conversation regarding the future of physical literacy.
