561 Advocacy 9-1-1: A Call to Action

Saturday, April 5, 2014: 1:00 PM-2:15 PM
Convention Center: 120
School Health Education: K-12 Standards-based Instruction
Intended Audience: K-12, Post Secondary Instructor/Faculty
Speakers: Kelly M. Boyd, East Stroudsburg University of Pennsylvania, East Stroudsburg, PA; and Kimberley Razzano, East Stroudsburg University of Pennsylvania, East Stroudsburg, PA
Tough times call for tougher measures! Using their own rookie experiences from organizing a large-scale cycling event (PSAHPERDs Capital to Capitol - ONE Ride), the speakers will demonstrate that advocacy is a professional responsibility, vital to discipline visibility and longevity, personally rewarding, and completely attainable, even with limited experience. This program is interactive and participants will leave with the building blocks necessary to visualize, plan, and direct their own advocacy project. (CEU) (CHES)
