Tennis is a fun and easy sport that helps schools achieve their health and wellness goals! By using “right-sized” equipment and simplified scoring and rules, it is now easier than ever for kids to experience immediate success right from the start. No courts are required so schools can effectively offer tennis in a variety of settings. By attending the session, participants will experience how to introduce tennis to large numbers of children in limited spaces without the need for traditional tennis courts. Attendees will have an opportunity to participate in a variety of games and activities designed to create a positive experience regardless of ability. Specific methods for introducing tennis to students with special needs will also be demonstrated. The USTA has a long standing School Tennis program that includes teacher training, easy-to-follow lesson plans, equipment assistance, and local staff support. Following the training, participants will receive access to special offers for implementing a school tennis program.
