Regular physical activity for all ages is a current public health goal and has been shown to be especially important for adults age 50+. This population presents special exercise programming challenges especially in the areas of balance and core strength. This presentation will review principles of dynamic core stability and balance training, and present appropriate exercise/activity assessments and strategies to apply with older adults to retain balance skills, reduce falls risk and support active living.
