This session will provide coaches with applied knowledge on the recognition of specific injuries, basic care for certain conditions and prevention of injury through proper equipment fitting. A variety of sport-related topics including proper football helmet fitting, heat related illnesses and hydration, the flash-to-bang method for keeping participants safe during a lightning storm, and use of emergency equipment (i.e. epi-pen) will be addressed. Coaches will be able to use these practical applications immediately.
