NASPE Standards are designed to ensure teacher educators are assessing candidate performance appropriately. The question is, how do we do it? Standard 2 is specifically related to skill and fitness proficiency and thus provides a wide variety of assessment possibilities. A current NCATE/NASPE lead reviewer will discuss some decisions regarding choosing which skills to assess, how to design assessments and how to manipulate the data in excel, once we have collected it, for program development.
