Dance to live fiddling, call a dance, identify dance figures! Learn how to collaborate with teachers and the community to host a barn dance. Appalachian Porch Dancing is a high energy activity incorporating flat (“buck”) dancing with clog and flash dancing. Chugs, steps, brushes, leaps, and scuffs, all keep time with live fiddling--a fun toe-tapping experience. Dudley Laufman is the recipient of our nation’s highest honor in folk and traditional arts: the National Heritage Fellowship.
