The purpose of this session is to explore issues related to bone health, how exercise aids in the prevention of bone disease, and lesson plan development considerations for physical educators. Those in attendance will gain an understanding of the prevalence and consequences of osteoporosis, how exercise functions to enhance bone density, and variables to be considered when creating lesson plans for developing healthy bones. Activities and lesson plan examples will be shared with participants.
