This interactive session will use research findings along with theoretical and practical understandings to identify a variety of best practices and teaching strategies for K-12 teachers working with students from diverse racial/ethnic backgrounds including English Language Learners. Topics include recognizing ethnic and cultural student differences, planning and adapting instruction, teaching in urban settings, and infusing culturally relevant pedagogy into teaching. Participants will also take part in several diversity training activities.
