The standards-based educational reform movement has revealed teacher effectiveness has a significant impact on student learning. This has resulted in increased interest in measuring teacher effectiveness, heightening the need for professionals in physical education to develop an assessment system that fairly and objectively evaluates teacher performance in physical education. The purpose of this presentation is to discuss current teacher effectiveness models and which models would best be implemented or modified for a physical education setting.
