Technological breakthroughs in baseball bats have improved player's performance; however, these high-performance bats exacerbate the risk of injury to players to an unacceptable level. The purpose of this presentation is to examine the controversy swirling around the use of high-tech bats in baseball and the measures being implemented to ameliorate the problem. This presentation provides coaches and administrators with strategies to lower the risk of potential injury posed by high-tech bats.
