Mental toughness is key for optimal athletic performance. It's the result of proper psychological skills training, using tools such as self-talk, refocusing, imagery, and goal-setting. Every coach wants their athletes to be mentally tough but few understand how to teach mental toughness. This presentation will provide attendees with ideas on how to assess the mental toughness of your athletes along with a toolbox of suggestions for coaching your athletes to be mentally tough.
