NDA bestows the Heritage Award to icons dedicated to a lifetime of dance education excellence! Join us in honoring Lula Washington, the award-winning Artistic Director of the Lula Washington Dance Theatre, located in Los Angeles. Lula provides a creative outlet for both minority students and her outstanding performing company. She is admired as a teacher, leader, dancer, and choreographer, masterfully fusing Afro-Haitian with gospel, classical, street, and theatrical styles. Her most recent accomplishment--choreographing the blockbuster movie AVATAR. Special guests will present heart-felt testimonials to this great lady.
