Researchers, practitioners, and administrators share a critical need to measure coaching behaviors. In this session, current observational measures will be reviewed along with prominent models of effective coaching and best practices. Participants are encouraged to share their insights and provide input in the development of a new, comprehensive measure of coaching effectiveness. The new observational instrument will assess the best practices of coaches in the areas of instruction, competitive coaching, and positive psychosocial development.
