Requiring physical activity outside of class for pre-service teachers is one way to promote physical activity among future physical education/activity professionals. The purpose of this paper is to explore a requirement for physical activity among pre-service physical education teachers, determine the extent to which their physical fitness improves throughout the program, and describe participant perceptions on requiring physical activity outside of class.
