Intergenerational programs are designed to link older adults with school children in activities that provide reciprocal benefit for both. This session will include background theory in current research supporting the need for intergenerational physical activity. Children's literature will be used as a way to involve the young and old in collaborative creative movement that has the potential to enhance cardiovascular fitness, muscle strength and bone strength while developing positive intergenerational relationships.
