The process of becoming a coach involves acquiring a variety of skills including communication, motivation, reinforcement, teaching, sport knowledge, team management, risk management, and sport physiology (Martens, 1990). This session will examine a variety of educational methods that have been used in the development process of becoming a coach. In addition, this interactive session will provide participants the opportunity to discuss their development as a coach and what methods might be beneficial for future coaches.
